  • Join North Carolina Choral Artists in Clark Hall of historic Calvary Church as we present Modern Voices. This special concert celebrates the American composers who continue to add to the American choral repertoire today, and will feature a world premiere performance of a brand new work by NC-based composer Michael Glasgow. The concert also features a new work by friend of NCCA Nolawi Araya, which is set to be published this year. Both of these composers will join Artistic Director James Mauk in a pre-concert talk to discuss their works, and the life of a composer.

Day 3 - Tarboro Choral Society Concert

  • Capping the wonderful three-day festival will be on Sunday May 17 at 4 p.m. in the Hitachi Astemo Auditorium at Edgecombe Community College will be the wide-ranging performance by the Tarboro Choral Society featuring guest musicians Rebekkah and Jeffry Ambrosini, and a string ensemble. The guest conductor, Dr. David Rayl from University of Michigan. The program will feature familiar favorites and perhaps new-to-you selections from Aaron Copeland, Duke Elligton, Rogers and Hammerstein, Moravian music, Randall Thompson and many other renowned American composers. The concert will be held in the Edgecombe County Community College auditorium. Celebrate the Nation’s 250th Anniversary with us!
